Product Description
Eco friendly husks of coconuts. Ideal for naturalistic terrarium type setups incorporating reptiles, amphibians or invertebrates. Use it damp for tropical species as it naturally absorbs and breaks down door and waste products.
This ecological substrate is ideal for increasing humidity in the terrarium and is totally safe for frogs, salamanders and burrowing or digging animals.
The Coco-chips are washed in clean water to achieve a material which can be safely used in growing media with low EC level (salt content). Using Coco chips as an additive in potting mixtures creates a growing medium with the ideal physical properties.

There should’ve been 1:1 mix of large and small size chips, since this is mostly used for orchids, the chips were all too small size, would’ve been better to have at least half in a bit larger size chips.

Got 2 bags of this and they are currently in the freezer to prevent any mite/gnat out break. Pieces are 1-1.5″ and do have some fibers and smaller bits. Will be rinsing it off when I put it 8n for the box turtle.

This product is amazing. I am so glad that Amazon had it as an ADD ON for my order for only about $4 per bag. My local pet shop wanted $16 per bag. This is a very nice substrate for all of your rainforest friends. All natural coconut husk chunks. No dust and no smell. It is perfect for my Monkey Tail Skink. Keeps in the humidity she needs to stay healthy.
